एउटा पुस्तक लेख्ने रहर थियो। कस्तो पुस्तक? कसरी लेख्ने? मसित उत्तर थिएन। कुनै दिन पुस्तक लेख्नेछु भन्ने बालसुलभ चाहनाबाहेक मसित अरु केही थिएन। न विषय, न शब्द, न त बिनाविषय पाठकलाई बाँधेर राख्न सक्ने शब्दकला। केही पनि त थिएन, सिवाय एक रहर।

सपनाको बिजारोपण भएको वर्षौंवर्ष पछि पनि मैले ‘त्यो’ पुस्तकको एक अक्षर लेख्न सकिनँ। कागजमा अक्षर नलेख्दा नलेख्दै, वर्षौं साथीभाइलाई ‘म पुस्तक लेख्दैछु, लेख्नेछु’ भन्दै हिँडें।
